Stranger In My Arms
This is one of those strange records that make it into the Northern Soul genre, to the horror of purists. With the distance of time, it becomes sort of acceptable. Music genres are really a subjective thing, but some classification is needed surely?
Lynne looks like a typical classic Mod from the sixties, it’s a good enough record to get into Soulbot as quit a few Soulie’s liked it before they realised who she was and that she was white to boot! Born in Liverpool, her family emigrated to Australia when she was a child.
She did a version of Little Anthony’s Going Out Of My Head. She apparently had an unhappy life even though she made it as Australia’s most popular female singer, before Kylie of course. She died in 2007 apparently leaving notes for relations. She had at one point become addicted to methamphetamine (see Wikipedia below).
