Mods

The Mod scene hit clubs in Manchester around the same time The Beatles hit the charts. At the old Twisted Wheel on Brazenose Street, Manchester, at first there was an uneasy mix of dossers (left over from the old Left Wing Cafe days) and the new members dressed in the latest gear from the Manchester Carnaby Street equivalent boutiques.

The ‘Mods’ then morphed into Tonik Mohair suit wearing allnighter going, pill taking soul freaks at the new Wheel on Whitworth Street.
