In the sixties, instrumental Music featured profusely in the DJ playlists at the time. Booker T and the MGs, Phil Upchurch and Willie Mitchell being among the most popular.
Roger Eagle was very keen on promoting instruments that were rarely played, if ever, at other Manchester clubs at the time. These included jazz organist Jimmy Smith, Billy Preston and Jimmy McCracklin.
