Novelty

In the early days of The Twisted Wheel in Brazenose Street, it was not unusual to hear novelty records which would never had reached the light of day in the new club.

Scratchy by Travis Wammack was virtually the theme tune of the Wheel and songs such as Riot In Cell Block #9 by The Robins (written by Lieber and Stoller, no less) and Roger Miller’s Chug-a-lug were also popular
