In 2007 Spanky Wilson recorded I’m Thankful with The Quantic Soul Orchestra. Sunshine Of Your Love is of course her version of CREAM’S great Soul song, I think first played live at the Twisted Wheel in 1967. Have a listen to this track – it’s electric!
Spanky Wilson – Louella ‘Spanky’ Wilson – was born in Philadelphia, started singing in clubs aged seventeen and at one time toured with Jimmy Mcgriff. She has backed many soul singers as well as accompanying jazz and soul artists on tours.
