A lot of surf, hot rod and dragster related music was played at the old Twisted Wheel. Examples were: “Little Honda” by the Hondells, GTO by Ronnie and The Daytoners, Bucket T, Jan and Dean and the Beach Boys did lots of similar stuff. In fact it was Brian Wilson that wrote Little Honda for the Hondells. Roger Eagle the Club’s DJ would run hot and cold on this music style. Always a fan of the Beach Boys, sometimes he would refuse to play requests for some of the others, such as the Surfin’ Bird which he detested.

Producer Gary Usher put together session men to record the track and great ones too – featured ace guitarists Glen Campbell and Richie Podolor, as well as drummer Hal Blaine.
