Hank Levine and His Orchestra Image Part 1

IMAGE – PART I / IMAGE PART II- Instrumental – HMV 1961 / 946

Image by Hank Levine was the theme tune to the Bob Stewart radio show on Radio Caroline (North). It is a haunting melody and it is often still heard today. Hank Levine recorded Dr Kildare, the theme music for the television programme starring Richard Chamberlain. He also released quite a few instrumental versions of pop songs of the sixties, most of which don’t belong here…(Georgie Girl, Downtown – need we go on?).

Alan Haven did a version released on Fontana (TF835) in 1965. However, as was the usual case, (and even though Alan Haven played live at the Twisted Wheel), it was the original recording of Image by Hank Levine that was the favoured play by the DJ Roger Eagle whose ambition was always to find the original (usually) American version of tracks, which he succeeded to do on many occasions.
