Soul in Advertising – The Shredded Wheat ad was about healthy food associated with keeping fit by dancing. It’s got a working class (60’s) feel to it. The Lucozade ad gets the right image of the original Mod scene of the actual 1960’s which kicked of the entire UK Soul appreciation scene with its styles, tailored suits and scooters. The Northern scene looks somewhat less smart in its external attire, but was fantastic for digging up or reintroducing fantastic Soul records.
