(You’re My) Soul and My Inspiration

The Righteous Brothers song You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ was a hugely popular at Manchester’s clubs  but its soulful content assured its longevity at places like the Twisted Wheel and the Blue Note. Mods liked these guys even if they were White!

Cilla Black did a copy of ‘Lovin’ Feelin’ which also made the charts and diminished the original’s success. “(Your My) Soul And My Inspiration” another great and popular track played at the Twisted Wheel at closing sessions mid-week; Fantastic. Great ‘Wall of Sound’ by that Phil Spector guy.

They did the original version of “Little Latin Lupe Lu” which was also recorded by Mitch Ryder

UNCHAINED MELODY was another of their hits, then years later: they scored or at least their band did, on the seventies Northern Scene with “Rat Race” which comes in at 282 on Kev Roberts Top 500 of Northern Soul. Sort of a driving beat with an intro like a possible TV detective or Batman themed instrumental,
