The Persuaders

The Persuaders - Thin Line between Love & Hate - Video (High Quality)

Thin Line Between Love And Hate – Atlantic (1971)

(Later recorded by The Pretenders).

Some Guys Have All The Luck – 1971

Later recorded by Robert Palmer– who used to be in The Alan Bown Set that played at the Twisted Wheel. Rod Stewart also covered it.

The Persuaders were formed in New York in 1969. Their best slow soul number was It’s A Thin Line Between Love And Hate – excellent but too late to get played at Manchester‘s great soul venues. By the time it was released they had all closed down. Apart from this they did the original of Some Guys Have All The Luck – most famously covered by Robert Palmer – the coolest dude to come out of Barnsley by a long chalk!
