Of course this record was unknown to us in the sixties, by Frank we thought he wrote it for Chris Clarke, and her record we never obtained, and it is a truly brilliant song and the writer singing it does surpass other versions and deserves its place as the number one record in Kev Roberts Northern Soul Top 500.
Do I Love You Chris Clark’s version of the rarest soul record in the world, namely Frank Wilson‘s Do I Love You? (Indeed I do) which was withdrawn immediately upon release. Frank Wilson wrote the track and sang lead on it. The story is that only three original copies of the 7-inch 45 rpm recording exist and one has changed hands for around £15,000 with a Scottish Soul fan purchasing it. More recently it was sold for £100,000! There’s gold in that there soul!
