1964 – The pirate Radio station Radio Caroline’s theme tune was a song by The Fortunes – a sixties pop group who produced some very melodic songs. At this time the only place (apart from Radio Luxembourg), to hear ‘ soul music’ on the airwaves. Formed in March 1963.
