I first saw Erykah Badhu performing on the Jools Holland Show.
She popped up as a witchy woman in the film The Blues Brothers 2000. Funky Nassau with Soul too.
Great different stylist singer, she has the nickname of ‘Queen of Neo Soul’. She created a certain amount of controversy when she shot a video for her single Window Seat in Dallas at the site of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. During the video she shed items of clothing as she approached the actual location of the murder until she was completely nude. The video ends with Erykah Badhu being shot. Apparently, she was attempting to portray that Kennedy wasn’t afraid of confronting the truth and neither was she.
