The Drapels were a soul group who recorded with Stax in the sixties. Members included Wendy Rene (real name, Mary Frierson) who recorded After Laughter Comes Tears in 1964, Mary and Johnny Frierson, Marinanne Brittenum and Wilbur Mondie.
