Dixie Nightingales

All I Need is Some Sunshine in My Life - Dixie Nightingales

ASSASSINATION

The Dixie Nightingales released a fantastic, soulful track Assassination – a tribute to John F Kennedy.

Roger Eagle only played this a few times at the Twisted Wheel in Brazennose Street Manchester. he obtained it as an import from America as he did with many Stax recordings.
Ollie Hoskins was originally in The Wayside Travellers in the early 1950s and then with The Gospel Writer Juniors, eventually becoming The Dixie Nightingales. They recorded for Nashboro and then for Chalice (Stax’ gospel subsidiary).

Ollie and The Nightingales

After Ollie Hoskins left as a solo artist Sir Mack Rice, then lead the group as The Nightingales.
