The Detroit Emeralds were formed in Detroit in 1968 and consisted of Abrim, Ivory, Cleophus, and Raymond Tilmon. Their most remembered number is undoubtedly Feel The Need In Me which entered the charts much later in 1977. Another was: You Want It You Got It.
They had several offshoots and imitators in the intervening years – there are probably some still working today albeit with little or no connection to the original line up.
