Well these records were never played at The Twisted Wheel – I never heard them there not even during week nights, probably due to them being slow Soulful songs. But they were played often at the nearby Blue Note club because it had a real dance-floor and always ended the night with a half hour of slow smooching type records, so that people could dance close before getting the late bus home.
Kev Roberts puts “You’re Gonna’ Love My Baby” @ 26 in his Top 500: yet another of the 100 or so classic Soul 45’s that were first featured on the original Soul scene in the UK.
She was also an actor playing a nun in a TV show and posed topless for Playboy in 1968.
Un-released at the time of recording – 1966 – her Baby A Go-Go is popular on the current Northern Soul scene.
Baby A-Go-Go (1966) is a typical Motown sound of that mid sixties era Fab.
But the spelling on this pre-release pressing is wrong, maybe that’s why they withdrew it?
