Gloria Lynne - Speaking Of Happiness

Speaking Of Happiness (1966)

Gloria Lynne recorded (You don’t have to be a) Tower Of Strength (1964) answer to back song to Gene McDaniels‘s Tower of Strength. She was part of the Enchanters and the Dell-Tones, Doo Wop groups in the 1950s. In the 1980s she had a hit with Speaking Of Happiness in the UK due to the song being featured on a TV advert for the Ford MONDEO! An advertising trend in the UK for using Soul R&B and Blues recordings: someone in those media companies must have been into it and Mod culture in the 1960’s is our guess!
