(You don’t have to be a) Tower Of Strength (1964) answer to back song to Gene McDaniels‘s “Tower of Strength“. She was part of the Enchanters and the Dell-Tones Doo Wop groups in the 1950s. In the 1980s she had a hit with Speaking Of Happiness in the UK due to the song being featured on a TV advert for Fords MONEO! An advertising trend in the UK for using Soul R&B and Blues recordings: someone in those media companies must have been into it and Mod culture in the 1960’s!
