Roger Eagle the DJ at the Twisted Wheel introduced blues artists to the original club in 1964 and a tradition including blues became endemic there, with many artists becoming ‘soul’ acceptable such as Slim Harpo‘s ‘Scratch My Back’. As for Fleetwood Mac, they never appeared at the club but some members did as individuals in other previous bands.
The titles above did get played, and were also played at the Blue Note Club which by the late 1960’s was playing a wider range of American soul and certain blues artists, whilst the ‘Wheel’ was moving towards the up beat Motown style more exclusively.
