I Wonder Why
Run Around Sue
Dion

Dion and the Belmonts were one of the best known close harmony groups of the late fifties and early sixties. This was a great big dance number at the Whitworth Street Twisted Wheel. Oh yes it was – this database tries to be accurate about the Wheel! A Rock and Roll half hour session was a popular feature at one point.

Dion DiMucci was born July 18, 1939 in the Bronx to an Italian family. For many years he battled against heroin addiction putting paid to the myth that this drug is only recently popular among musical artists. He is now a practising catholic and does good work with prisoners recovering from addiction.

Song Lyrics for Runaround Sue by Dion DiMucci and Ernie Maresca

Here’s my story, sad but true
It’s about a girl that I once knew
She took my love then ran around
With every single guy in town

Ah, I should have known it from the very start
This girl will leave me with a broken heart
Now listen people what I’m telling you
Keep away from Run-around Sue

I miss her lips and the smile on her face
The touch of her hair and this girl’s warm embrace
So if you don’t want to cry like I do
Keep away from Run-around Sue

Ah, she likes to travel around
She’ll love you but she’ll put you down
Now people let me put you wise
Sue goes out with other guys
Here’s the moral and the story from the guy who knows
I fell in love and my love still grows
Ask any fool that she ever knew, they’ll say
Keep away from Run-around Sue

She likes to travel around
She’ll love you but she’ll put you down
Now people let me put you wise
Sue goes out with other guys
Here’s the moral and the story from the guy who knows
I fell in love and my love still grows
Ask any fool that she ever knew, they’ll say
Keep away from Run-around Sue
