The Times They Are A-Changing
Subterranean Homesick Blues

Two recordings of Bob Dylan’s were played often at the early days of the Brazennose Street Twisted Wheel in Manchester when duffle coats and combat jackets were the fashion accessories to be seen in. The club goers divided into two groups, those who booed and those who cheered. Eventually the booers won. The tracks played were the above.

Dylan was heavily influenced by the blues (including Jesse Fuller the one man blues band). Other influences were Woody Guthrie and Lead Belly. Eventually he influenced everyone else, probably some soul songwriters too. But it’s often forgotten what a creative genius he is. There are so many songs that have become classics that were written by Robert Zimmerman.

Born: May 24, 1941, Duluth, MN. Still touring.
